The answer is Ford. Which leads to another question. What was unique about his presidency? |

I don't think that's correct. Ford ran with Nixon, and he didn't "win" the Presidency. He became Vice President after Nixon's resignition. The answer has to be before Kennedy. Eisenhower? |

Ford didn't run with Nixon. He became the VP after Nixon's first VP resigned, than when Nixon resigned Ford took over. Before him was Dwight Eisenhower. http://www.libertystar.com/presidents.htm |

Ford was not elected either president or vice president. He was appointed as VP after Spiro Agnew resigned, then became President after Nixon resigned. He's one of the 5 men to serve as president who was never elected to the post. Eisenhower's VP both terms was Richard Nixon. The last time Republicans won the White House without a Nixon or a Bush on the ticket was 1928, when Herbert Hoover was elected. Compared to democrats of today, I think both Truman and FDR WOULD be Republicans. I know JFK would. |
